SENSOR DIMENSIONS
WHERE TO INSTALL THIS SENSOR ON THE CRANE ?
This is hard to answer without visualising the crane. The sensor comes with a 7m cable which should allow it to be placed where the inclination is critical to the use of the crane. The sensor communicates using the RS-485 standard which will allow you to cut and extend the cable if necessary.
HOW TO CALIBRATION ?
When you have secured the sensor to what you deem as level and the display is showing a couple of degrees out, you can then use the menu system on the screen to calibrate the sensor and the display will then show 0 degrees for both pitch and roll. You also use the menu system to remove this calibration if you are moving the inclinometer to another location.
SHALL CALIBRATION EVERY A FEW MONTHS ?
Only necessary if you move to a another location/crane. You can calibrate as much as you want in theory but not needed unless showing incorrect settings when the crane is stationary in its default position (when calibrated)
The sensor is best placed on a level surface of the crane chassis, with the cable exiting the sensor facing toward the rear of the machine, as suggested on page 5 and 11 of the attached instruction manual.
The display/screen is to be mounted in a suitable location visible to the operator without obstructing their view.
